Check Your Golf Sequence
If you consistently strike the ball very high on the clubface your launch angle will increase. Try lowering the tee slightly so the ball sits at its equator level with the top line of the driver. This promotes a more centered strike which helps reduce excessive height while maintaining carry.
Many high drives come from adding loft at impact. This happens when your wrists release too early or when your trail shoulder dips dramatically. Focus on rotating through the ball and keeping your chest moving toward the target. A stable wrist position through impact keeps the club from adding unwanted loft.
If the ball is too far forward (past your left foot for right handed golfer) your clubface will impact the ball as it is ascending past optimal impact point. Moving the ball a small amount back in your stance helps you strike it at a more neutral loft for a penetrating launch.
A rushed downswing can cause the clubface to open and add loft. A smooth transition at the top produces better timing and a more efficient strike. When your tempo is steady your driver launches at an optimal height and maintains consistent spin.
They happen when your spine, hips and shoulders move in perfect harmony.
